Odgers Berndtson US Presented with Commitment to the Community Award by the Association of Executive Search and Leadership Consultants

The award recognizes organizations that have made a significant contribution to their community

The Association of Executive Search and Leadership Consultants (AESC) presented Odgers Berndtson US with the AESC Commitment to the Community Award in a ceremony today at AESC’s annual global conference in New York.   

Bestowed since 1982, AESC awards recognize organizations and individuals within the executive search profession for their achievements and contribution to the profession and the communities in which they serve. The AESC Commitment to the Community Award was established in 1993 to recognize an organization or individual who combines excellence in executive search or leadership consulting with a strong commitment to community service and volunteerism toward charitable causes. 

During the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, the firm leveraged their database—the dynamic profiles of more than 10 million healthcare professionals—and machine learning applications to help combat the widespread shortage of frontline healthcare workers.

At the start of the pandemic, the Odgers Berndtson US team gathered on a call to address an important question: "What can we do as a firm to help the nation and to help our clients?" The firm knew that hospital systems were struggling with staffing issues in the midst of the overwhelming surge in cases.  

Working in collaboration, the firm accessed a massive data set and fed it into their AI engine to identify overlooked, but qualified medical professionals, for example, registered nurses without active LinkedIn profiles. They then began pushing a text message campaign on behalf of states in search of volunteers willing to help.In New York alone, the firm quickly identified 800 nurses and doctors who could relocate to the metro area and another couple of thousand who were willing to provide telemedicine. The initiative was so powerful that it was replicated in many other states.
