Layton Named Stanton Chase Practice Leader for Global Industrial Practice Group
Bernard Layton, Managing Director of the Chicago office of Stanton Chase, has been named Global Practice Leader for the firm’s Global Industrial Practice Group.
The announcement was made by Mickey Matthews, International Chairman of Stanton Chase, a retained executive search firm with more than 70 offices in 45 countries.
“It is a distinct honor to make this announcement,” said Matthews. “Bernard is an outstanding leader and has distinguished himself as an exemplary search consultant with a strong global presence. Under his leadership, the Industrial Practice Group will continue its growth in the United States and throughout the world.”
In this capacity, Layton will oversee activity related to Stanton Chase’s global presence in this sector. Through the collaboration of offices throughout the world, Stanton Chase is able to identify and place candidates who understand virtually all cultures and business practices. The multi-cultural approach to executive search has been a benefit to Stanton Chase clients worldwide.
Layton has more than 28 years of experience in the executive search business. He began his career at a national firm and, as Partner and Division President, started the Chicago operation for the organization. In 1992, Layton founded Morgan International, Inc,. and subsequently Nicholas Partners, which rebranded as Peoplenext in October 2004. As of May 2008, Peoplenext became Stanton Chase Chicago.

Layton has successfully executed more than 750 searches spanning a wide range of senior and mid-management positions such as Presidents, Chief Executive Officers, Partner and Senior Vice Presidents across a number of industries, with particular expertise in Engineering, Construction, Management Consulting, Consumer Products, Industrial and Financial Services.
He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from San Diego State University.
