EMA Partners Opens Office in Seoul
Coming out of a global pandemic, executive search consultants are seeing an increase in hiring mandates from just about every corner of the globe. To meet demand, they continue to develop new practices, hire new recruiters, and open new locations. Global recruiting consortiums, meanwhile, are taking advantage of a resurgence in certain geographic areas.
EMA Partners International, a global partnership of executive search professionals, has expanded its presence in the Asia-Pacific region, with the addition of a new office in Seoul, Korea. The office is led by managing partner Harry Han. “We are delighted with our expansion in the region,” said K. Sudarshan, regional chair, Asia. “Harry, Jiwon and Michelle will surely add to our strength with their extensive knowledge and experience in the international and local Korean markets.” Mr. Han and his team, partners Jiwon Kang and Michelle Choi, have extensive experience in executive search as well as human global management, and leadership and organizational assessment across several industries.
“We believe in focused search processes to identify, recommend and select the best qualified individual to fulfil the client’s job description and the position’s goals and objectives within their corporate culture and strategic intent,” said Mr. Han.
Seoul is the business and financial hub of South Korea. Although it accounts for only 0.6 percent of the nation’s land area, more than half of South Korea’s bank deposits were held in the city last year, according to Forglobal, a networking website. The traditional, labor-intensive manufacturing industries have been continuously replaced by information technology, electronics and assembly-type of industries, however, food and beverage production, as well as printing and publishing remained among the core industries, said Forglobal. Major manufacturers are headquartered in the city, including Samsung, LG, Hyundai, Kia and SK.
