Coulter Partners and BioInnovation Institute Announce Partnership Agreement
Coulter Partners and BioInnovation Institute (BII), the international incubator in Denmark for research-based innovation and entrepreneurship, are delighted to announce a ground-breaking collaboration agreement. Coulter Partners has been engaged to provide support for BII across three workstreams; providing assessment, coaching and development for the CEOs of start-up businesses in BII’s portfolio under the Creation House Programme, hiring chairs and board directors to support these businesses and conducting an executive search for their portfolio companies where needed.
BioInnovation Institute helps entrepreneurially-minded researchers or anyone with a research-based innovation to bring ideas to life and research to market. State-of-the-art facilities and a range of funding opportunities are provided, as well as partnerships and programs with technical, scientific and commercial experts. Focusing on health tech, bioindustrials, and therapeutics, BII envisions that strong collaborations, a passion for science, and an open mind will foster research-based innovation and viable start-ups. BII does not work for profit but for the benefit of human welfare and society around the globe. BII is a Novo Nordisk Foundation initiative and in the first three years of operation, to the end of 2020, BII has been granted DKK 465 million (74 million dollars).
“Finding experienced biotech executives to work with our start-ups is critical for success. We are pleased to partner with Coulter Partners, a leader in life science executive search, to provide search and leadership development to our start-ups. They bring the needed experience in building early-stage, VC- backed teams to BII start-ups,” says Bobby Soni, Chief Business Officer at BioInnovation Institute.
“We have a history of two decades working with entrepreneurial leaders and their Boards, and it is a real pleasure to be bringing our learning, global perspective and advice to BII, its exciting companies and partners!” adds Bianca Coulter, CEO of Coulter Partners.
BII has a vibrant, collaborative workspace in Copenhagen with a 2,300 square meter advanced lab and office facilities, bringing together entrepreneurial researchers and company creators from different disciplines. It provides business acceleration programs, commercial support, funding opportunities and access to high-level mentoring and networks; extensive start-up support that through the partnership with Coulter Partners, BII looks forward to building further.
“Building the right team is a crucial component for start-up success and one of the most challenging components to get right. It is our pleasure to work with Coulter Partners as part of the BII programs, where they will use their deep industry expertise and global networks for talent attraction and board and senior-level global executive search to help BII start-ups innovate, evolve, adapt and compete," says Giles Dudley, Senior Business Developer at BII.
“We are really pleased to be working with such a forward-looking organization as BioInnovation Institute, who are supporting the advancement of leading-edge scientific programs in their transition from research to realization,” comments Coulter Partners’ Director, Geoff Dobson. “This is a fantastic opportunity to help enable the development of a new generation of Life Science industry leaders!”
