2024 Global Conference Overview - May 15
Judee von Seldeneck, Founder and Chair of Diversified Search Group/AltoPartners with Karen Greenbaum, AESC CEO
On May 15 in New York, AESC members and Partners came together for the premier event for the executive search and leadership consulting profession, AESC’s Influence and Impact.
Thought-provoking speakers shared their take on future trends including business expansion and transformation, human intelligence supported by AI, and how our profession leads in a time of rapid social change. AESC members were celebrated for their achievements, members shared learnings and best practices, and old friends and new collaborated for the good of the profession. Sessions included:
Navigating DEI in a Time of Rapid Social Change
Kenji Yoshino, NYU School of Law
Constitutional law professor Kenji Yoshino delivered a powerful keynote on diversity, equity and inclusion in the changing legal landscape. His practical guidance will help shape our and our clients’ DEI strategies and initiatives going forward.
KEY TAKE-AWAYS
- Programs and policies that intentionally confer preferences on protected groups for palpable benefits will be problematic. Programs and policies that advance DEI that are open to and can benefit all are more likely to withstand legal scrutiny.
- AESC members – because we source talent from broad pools, and clients select the successful candidates – may serve as a buffer to criticism.
- DEI isn’t going away – leaders and organizations will adapt to the changing landscape and continue to deliver fairness and inclusion.
