Russell Reynolds Associates: Risk Analysis of Automation Replacement in the Workforce
As automation becomes a true threat to job security, with artificial intelligence becoming more and more sophisticated, Russell Reynolds Associates analyzed the likelihood of replacement or significant augmentation of over 100 common management, administration, and finance jobs. The study specifically focused on 1,880 workplace tasks and assessed the risk of automation either eliminating the need for a human to perform these tasks or significantly changing how they are completed.
Notable findings include:
- Order fillers, wholesale, and retail sales are the jobs with the highest percentage of job tasks at risk for replacement.
- Sustainability specialists, operations research analysts, and biomass power plant managers are among the top jobs with the highest percentage of job tasks ready for redefinition and redesign.
- The job with the highest percentage of tasks with uniquely human requirements is meeting, convention, and event planning.
