Eton Bridge Partners: CPO Pathways Report 2022
Eton Bridge Partners shares the findings of research from over 1,000 Chief People Officers who were appointed in the UK between 2019 to 2021.
Notably, the researchers discovered that 41% of appointments to Chief People Officer were internal. This shows it's less likely to be appointed as CPO through an internal route.
You'll find more statistics about CPOs regarding gender, board membership, age, and more. Here are a few key findings:
- Chief People Officers are generally being appointed at a younger age than previously
- Chief People Officers are much more likely to be female than male, but the gap is narrowing.
- Sector experience is often cited as critically important when hiring, but around 50% of new CPO appointments are from out of sector
