Heidrick & Struggles Board Monitor Europe 2022
There is a very clear expectation that companies take a stand on social and political issues in recent years.
Heidrick and Struggles' recent report focuses on how boards in Europe moved the dial last year on changing their composition to tackle these new expectations and mitigate the risk of losing their license to operate.
Some key findings are:
- An increased share of seats went to directors who are still working in executive roles rather than retired, 67% in 2021 compared with 63%
- The share of seats going to women slightly declined, from 45% to 43%
- The share of seats going to nonnationals also decreased, from 42% to 34%
