Twitter Selects Spencer Stuart to Lead CEO Search
Twitter will press on with its search for a new Chief Executive Officer with a “sense of urgency” after the resignation of Dick Costolo, the company’s board said on Monday.
Spencer Stuart, an executive search firm, has been appointed to assist with a process that will consider internal and external candidates.
Internally, Mr Dorsey, the original inventor of the tweet, Adam Bain, Twitter’s head of revenue, and Anthony Noto, the chief financial officer who joined last year from Goldman Sachs, have all been seen as potential candidates.
Outside the company, speculation has swirled that Emily White, former Snapchat chief operating officer, Mike McCue, Flipboard chief executive and former Twitter board member, and Sukhinder Singh Cassidy, chief executive of video commerce company Joyous, could be contenders.
