Russell Reynolds Associates Hires Jon Derek Croteau

Russell Reynolds Associates, a leading global search and leadership advisory firm, today announced that Jon Derek Croteau has joined the firm’s New York office as a consultant in the firm’s Nonprofit Practice with a special emphasis on education, academic medicine, leadership and succession, and board effectiveness. He will also be a member of the firm’s Arts and Culture Practice and its Social Justice Practice. Croteau will focus on identifying senior executive talent and advising boards on organizational effectiveness, assessments, executive transition and succession planning.

Prior to joining the firm, Croteau was vice president and senior partner at a national executive search firm where he led executive searches and leadership effectiveness projects. He also served as executive director for Northwestern University’s New York regional center and as AVP in the division of University Advancement at Carnegie Mellon University. Croteau began his career in human capital management at what is now Willis Towers Watson. He has taught at Northwestern University’s School of Education & Social Policy, Carnegie Mellon University in the H. John Heinz III College, and the Warner Graduate School of Education at the University of Rochester.

Croteau has published several books, articles and essays on leadership, human capital management and diversity. He is on the Dean’s Advisory Board at Boston University’s School of Education and has served on other boards and councils in education, art and culture, and LGBTQ advocacy organizations.

Croteau holds a Doctorate in Administration, Leadership, Organizational and Policy Studies from Boston University. He also has a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University and a Bachelor’s in Writing, Literature & Publishing from Emerson College’s Honors Program, summa cum laude.
