Ivan Perry and Peter Gillin Join Diversified Search

Ivan Perry, an executive consultant at two national search firms and also a decorated U.S. Air Force veteran, and Peter Gillin, a search consultant with deep experience in the private education sector, have joined Diversified Search as managing directors, effective this month. “Ivan and Peter are very different leaders with very similar skills,” said Diversified President and CEO Dale E. Jones. “They are both tenacious and affable, smart and tactical, and both bring tremendous energy and intellect to Diversified Search.”

Perry will be based in Diversified’s Washington, D.C., office; Gillin will operate from Diversified’s headquarters in Philadelphia.

Jones also took the opportunity to announce the promotion of Lorena Keough, a seasoned search professional who has served as a managing director in the firm’s Miami office since 2009, as the new leader of the firm’s Supply Chain Management practice. Keough replaces Cheryl d’Cruz-Young, who has left the firm.

Perry was most recently a partner with Hanold Associates, an Evanston, Illinois-based search firm focused on Human Resources executives. Prior to that, he served as an executive recruiter at Heidrick & Struggles, primarily working to recruit and place CEOs, board members, and C-Suite executives in the Industrial and Finance arenas. Before embarking on a career in search, Perry was a captain in the U.S. Air Force trained in both intelligence and acquisitions program management; he did three tours in Afghanistan. He currently serves on the board of directors of The Soldiers Project, a national nonprofit that supports post-9/11 veterans and their families by providing access to free psychotherapy. A graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy with a bachelor of science degree in management, he recently completed his master of science degree in communication at Northwestern. Perry will work primarily in Diversified’s Life Sciences, Industrial, and Education, Nonprofit, and Arts and Culture practices.

Gillin comes to Diversified from Princeton, N.J.-based Wickenden Associates, where he has been a search consultant for the past four years, placing heads of schools and education divisions across the U.S. Before joining the search industry, he built an impressive career as an administrator, teacher, and coach at private schools and camps in Connecticut, Virginia, and New Hampshire, a resume that got him honored in Who’s Who in American Teaching. He holds both a bachelor’s degree in English and History and a master’s degree in School Administration and Supervision from the University of Virginia. He will work in Diversified Search’s Education, Nonprofit, and Arts and Culture practice, with an emphasis on private schools and education.

In her new role as head of the Supply Chain practice, Keough brings a particularly strong record of international senior executive searches, with a focus on recruiting world-class talent for U.S. and European multinationals globally; several of her assignments have involved placing entire senior management teams for subsidiaries in new countries. She began her search career as the head of the Latin America practice for a global boutique search firm focused on the life sciences and chemical industries. Prior to joining the search field, Keough was the General Manager and Vice President of Eastman Kodak’s Health Imaging and Diagnostics division for Latin America. In addition to heading the Supply Chain practice, she also works in the firm’s Energy and Natural Resources, Industrial, Life Sciences, and Private Equity practices.

“This influx of new talent, and the reshaping of our Supply Chain practice, shows the continued vitality and growth of Diversified Search,” Jones said. The firm has now added four new managing directors and a new CEO for its STEMconnector business in the last year; last September it also acquired BioQuest, the San Francisco-based life sciences search firm. “We look forward to continuing this trend through the rest of 2017 and beyond.”
