Buffkin / Baker and WTW Associates Merge

WTW Associates, which specializes in the media, entertainment, technology and law industries, will now be part of Buffkin / Baker’s entertainment/media practice. It will integrate its operations into the Buffkin / Baker New York office.

 

The merger comes after what was then Brentwood-based The Buffkin Group and Baker and Associates of Atlanta announced in early February a merger to form Buffkin / Baker (read more here). Shortly thereafter, Buffkin / Baker announced it had acquired for an undisclosed sum MusicRowSearch, a Nashville-based executive search firm specializing in the entertainment sector.

 

Warren Wasp — who, the release notes, has “extensive contacts” in the entertainment and media sectors in New York, Los Angeles and London — founded WTW Associates in 1987 and serves as its president. He was previously chairman of IIC Partners and served on the board of the Association of Executive Search Consultants.

 

“We have greatly enhanced our entertainment/media practice this year, and are excited to have Warren Wasp and WTW join our team,” Craig Buffkin (pictured), managing partner of Buffkin / Baker, said in the release. “Earlier this year, we brought on MusicRowSearch, an entertainment search firm in Nashville, which also pioneered WHO KNEW, the popular networking and speaker series, and are eager to have Warren join the firm to lead the efforts. Warren is one of the visionary media and entertainment search executives in the industry.”

 

In addition to the Nashville-area and Atlanta offices, Buffkin / Baker operates offices in Chicago, New York, Winston-Salem, N.C., Charleston, S.C. and Washington, D.C., with affiliate offices in London. The company is a member of Panorama Search, comprising 16 executive search firms with 42 offices globally. Buffkin / Baker’s health care practice, which has been named the 20th largest health care search practice by Modern Healthcare, bills itself as the largest Nashville health care search firm
