Boyden Relaunches in South Korea to Support Asia Pacific Expansion
World-class management consultant John Kim joins as new Managing Partner to lead the firm’s new Seoul office.
Boyden, with more than 65 offices in over 40 countries, today announced that John Kim has joined as a Managing Partner. He will work in concert with William Farrell, a Boyden Board Member and Managing Partner of Boyden South Korea and Taiwan, to relaunch Boyden’s presence in South Korea.
This follows Monday's announcement of major expansion in Hong Kong, China and Singapore.
Kim joins Boyden from Deloitte with 20 years of corporate executive and management consulting experience. He has advised C-suite executives and boards on change and transformation management, operations, growth strategy, finance, corporate governance and regulatory compliance.

Kim has held senior leadership roles at Accenture and IBM Business Consulting Services, working with a variety of multinationals including Samsung, Hyundai, POSCO, LG Electronics, SK Telecom, GS Caltrex, Doosan Heavy Industries, Korean Air and Hanjin.
Previously, Kim served as President of Hyundai Welding and as Asia Pacific Leader of IBM's Automotive Industry and Defense Industry practices. He also founded a portfolio of technology start-ups in Silicon Valley and Asia.

In addition, Kim has served as a Board Member of Meritz Fire and Marine Inssurance Co., Meritz Merchant Bank and Securities Co. and Meritz Financial Group. He holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in computer science from University of Southern California, and an MBA from Boston University. He also completed the advanced management program at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He is fluent in English and Korean, and also speaks intermediate Japanese and Chinese.
