Amrop Strengthens Life Sciences Practice in India

Sanjay Banerjee joins Amrop India as a Partner and country leader for the Life Sciences Practice. He brings deep expertise in Life Sciences, with over three decades of general management and business leadership in the Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices space spanning three organizations: ICI, Baxter, Zimmer/Zimmer Biomet.

Sanjay has a leading presence in the Indian Life Sciences sector and has held leadership positions in prominent industry associations including the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Confederation of Indian Industry, NATHEALTH, AMCHAM, and AdvaMed. In this capacity, he has engaged in various stakeholders in shaping appropriate policy and regulatory frameworks for the growth of Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals and Medical Technology sectors in India.

Sanjay brings a high level and in-depth perspective of the Indian and global life sciences landscape, its evolution and leadership needs. In his last role as Managing Director for Zimmer Biomet, Sanjay established and scaled up Zimmer's presence in South Asia & India over a span of 10 years. Earlier at Baxter, he built their Renal and Medication Delivery Businesses as the Business Head. Recently, Sanjay has been involved in advising and mentoring a number of start-ups.

Sanjay holds a B.Tech - Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kolkata.

He is also a Director of MVentures International, a company founded to incubate and develop urban infrastructure projects.
