Amanda Penney Promoted to Vice President at Royer Thompson
Building on over 20 years of human resource leadership, Amanda Penney is promoted to Vice President and Practice Lead, HR Advisory Services and Career Transition with Royer Thompson. She joined the firm almost three years ago and has established herself as a trusted advisor to our growing roster of clients. Amanda brings to this role deep experience in organizational performance, human resources, and career care.
Amanda has been immersed in all aspects of the firm’s advisory services bringing extensive knowledge, understanding, and a holistic approach to our clients. Her career has been focused on helping organizations achieve the full potential of people and teams.
Prior to joining Royer Thompson, Amanda led the Human Resources function for marque regional and national companies, responsible for providing strategic advice and operational support of corporate and business goals with regards to people and culture. She led the planning and execution of HR strategy and provided strategic direction in areas such as talent management, succession & workforce planning, employee & labour relations, compensation, culture, change management, and organizational design.
Over her career, Amanda has undertaken significant organizational restructure and downsizing projects in addition to leading the human resources policies, processes, training, recruitment, and onboarding initiatives. Her experience includes the critical role of human resource strategy during significant periods of organizational growth and downsizing. She was also involved in workforce adjustment projects acting as a trusted advisor and facilitator. Earlier in her career, she cultivated her unbiased and professional approach to gathering facts and information necessary to provide objective advice and recommendations.
Amanda is a Chartered Professional of Human Resources and a member of both the Chartered Professional Human Resources Association of Nova Scotia and the International Coaching Federation. She has a Graduate Certificate in Strategic Human Resource Management with Royal Roads University and is currently enrolled in Royal Roads University Executive Coaching Graduate Program. She is a coach, participant, and fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada and a member of the Board of Directors with the Healthy Tomorrow Foundation.
